The Old Emanuel Association was launched over a century ago now (1904) and can make claim to being amongst the earlier associations of its type. It has brought many ex-students great joy on and off the sports fields and we hope this new initiative…our website… will help build membership and connection.
The Aim of THE OLD EMANUEL ASSOCIATION is simply to desire well (POUR BIEN DESIRER) … The Noble Aim. It’s a motto that we knew only too well during our school years but did we really get to grips with its meaning at the time? It’s central to our ambitions at the OEA which are best summarised as follows:
Connection
We desire to retain a CONNECTION with the School throughout the year via this website, using it to ensure distribution of the school’s and OE news and achievements. We will be encouraging the growth of as many interest groups as might be required as we go along.
Camaraderie
We will promote CAMARADERIE amongst all our members through lunches, events and reunions, whatever age mix, and look to grow our numbers (currently at the 350 mark)
Charity
We will support the school in its CHARITABLE aims, focusing on Emanuel's outreach programme PRIMARY AMBITIONS, helping primary school children in twenty-four local schools to enjoy the facilities of Emanuel whilst assisting our own pupils to grow...AND in the work of WANDSWORTH MUSIC, a most amazing charity operating in the locality of the school that brings joy to many children throughout the borough.
Community Sports
We will assist our SPORTS CLUBS to move into the post Blagdons era.
